Swiss Embroideries are worked on a background of very fine 100% cotton batiste.
Entredeux is a French word meaning "between two". It is used a great deal in heirloom sewing and serves both function and beauty. It is used to join strips of fabric, embroidery, lace. Lace can also be gathered and sewn to entredeux when used as an edging.
I use 2 types of entredeux in my heirloom sewing - regular and baby. The difference is the number of holes per inch. Baby entredeux has 17 holes per inch and regular entredeux has 13 holes per inch. They are both perfect for all your heirloom sewing.
