THE APRIL CLASS IS FULL. A second class is scheduled for Sun., May 16, 9am-4pm. Harvest Town Apples "Stencilscape" Class given by Jackie Paton. Jackie's newest line of fabric, Harvest Town, will be here in March and she has designed a new stencilscape class to coordinate with it! Jackie teaches you how to stencil onto cloth with her unique freezer paper method. NO PAINTING EXPERIENCE OR ARTISTIC ABILITY IS NECESSARY TO TAKE THIS CLASS! Art supplies, paints and the finishing quilt pattern are included in the class fee. Supply list & homework sheet are given at sign-up. Class size is limited. Please let us know if you would like the optional fabric finishing kit. Bring your own lunch, dessert & drinks will be provided. The "stencilscape" technique is a class that must be taken to learn the technique. It is not available as a pattern for purchase.

Learn how to make this Album Block Carrying Case with Karen Pessia. Looking for a way to carry your applique blocks and keep them flat? With this case you can carry 18" blocks on the inside and 12" blocks in the outside pocket. The case is made with 3 1/2 to 4 yards of fabric, foam board and your sewing machine. You will have a very stylish case to carry your work in and others will want it!! Great for use when attending applique or piecing classes. You will provide your own fabric and the book "Baltimore Elegance" by Elly Sienkiewicz must be purchased separately. Please bring your lunch. Drinks and snacks will be provided.

Karen has put together an 'open studio' on the third Saturday of each month for Baltimore Albums. The patterns will be from Elly Sienkiewicz's book "Baltimore Elegance" which is required for the workshop. Karen will help you select your blocks, the block size, and also help with fabric selection. From there you will work on your own specific block of choice, while Karen provides "how-to's" for each block and demos some 3-D flowers or embroidery. This workshop will begin Jan. 2010. However, you may attend any month to begin your Baltimore Album Quilt.

This class will teach you how to applique by machine with an invisible zigzag stitch. You will work with a foundation material and prepared edges. You will be amazed at how quickly you can master this technique. This is a class with the beginner in mind, but all levels are welcome. This is a "fun" way to do applique! You will love the results. Project is a small floral design that measures approx. 15" x 15". Cost of class includes Project Kit and instruction. Please bring your lunch. Drinks and snacks will be provided.

A two hour workshop to learn the basics of needle felting. This folk-art needlecraft has become very popular. The method is pretty basic but Lyn will share some hints that will help make it easy to create all kinds of projects. In this class you will needle felt a basket of flowers. Project kit is included. Bring: A sharp pencil or fine-line permament marker and scissors for cutting paper.

This Beginner Needleturn Hand Applique class is for those of you with NO experience in applique. Karen will cover all the basics using the freezer paper on top method. She will cover the basic techniques of bias stems, outside curves, circles and points along with some basic embroidery to embellish and finish off your appliqued piece. Learn how to piece together a beautiful Tablerunner in this Beginner Piecing Class - Part 1, taught by Lynn Thibault. Tablerunner is made of 3 blocks, a 9-patch in the center and pinwheel blocks on either side which creates a single Irish Chain. You will learn the basics of using your rotary cutter and ruler & piecing with an accurate 1/4" seam allowance. Class includes pattern and instruction. Supply list will be given at sign-up. Beginner Piecing & Quilting Class - Part 2 will be given on Feb 27, where you will learn how to layer, baste, do simple machine quilting and binding. A walking foot attachment to your sewing machine (also known as an even feed foot), and quilters safety pins are required. Bring your own lunch. Drinks and dessert will be provided.
