This is from one of our students:  I just returned from the beginners applique class with Karen. I told her that I enjoyed it very much, but I wanted to reiterate my appreciation with you. She was professional, but warm and had many good tips to pass along to us. The way the class was structured was excellent, especially the pre-class preparation so we were ready to start when we got there. The general set up was great with a place for us to store our lunch and with drinks and "goodies" provided. Excellent experience overall. I look forward to more classes. I definitely will sign up for more applique. I would love to have the cut away class rescheduled. Thank you, Susan

Another comment from one of our customers:  Attended my first "First Saturday Breakfast Club" and it was marvelous. Food was great, company was welcoming (I came by myself), new products were fun and informational, show and tell was fabulous, and the video was truly inspirational. Signed up for next month. Can't wait! Thank you so much for a wonderful time.

A comment from one of our Teachers, JEANNE LEX:  “Inspiring others towards happiness brings you happiness.” That's how I feel about teaching quilting.

The only exception that will be made is if Diane has seen your previous work and determines you have basic knowledge & are hooking at an intermediate level of proficiency. Diane will be on hand to encourage continued progress on your current rug projects and see you to completion. She will help you problem solve, share more of her many "tips & tricks", demonstrate some FUN & CREATIVE stitching & finishing techniques, as well as help with color planning a new project. Diane will have her strip cutting machine on hand for cutting your strips. Students must contact her prior to club meeting to let her know what projects they will be working on, especially if they are at a cross-roads, ready to finish a project, or ready to start a new one. That way she can make recommendations for what each student should prepare at home, and come ready for club. Contact Diane via email at: c_seasons@hotmail.com or by phone at: 978-456-6920.

Shoppe Members! Join us for Kim Diehl's sixth "Simple Whatnots Club" running April 2017 thru November 2017. (SWC). Kim is only offering this once a year now, so the club will have 8 Stitch-Alongs and 8 patterns instead of 6. This club has been designed for quilt shops only, featuring exclusive quilt and project designs stitched entirely from Kim's fabric line "Katie's Cupboard". We currently have many of Kim's highly sought after fabrics from her previous lines. Kim's lines are designed to be interchangeable and give an instant "scrap basket" look when used together, making it easy to achieve the scrappy look her quilts are known for. This club will feature eight "do-able" little quilts (nothing greater in size than 42 1/2" square) with traditional patchwork and a sprinkling of simple applique here and there. Best of all, the petite size of these quilts makes them easy to finish for a dose of instant gratification! For even more fun, Kim will share extra little snippets and morsels in the project handouts, including sewing tips and tricks, recipes, crafty things, and ideas for decorating with quilts. Handouts will include clearly written project directions that have been edited for accuracy, with full-size applique templates.

First there was the Tuffet! NOW, there is the SQUARE TUFFET! Come join us and learn to make this beautiful piece of quilted furniture. This piece finishes to an 18” square, a beautiful addition to any space in your home. Class includes the pattern and the kit. Because of the flat sides, this Tuffet can be made with strips of fabric like the round Tuffet or can be made using a “Featured Fabric”. So many options, such fun! In this 2-session workshop you will learn how to make a beautiful Square Tuffet (a fabric covered footstool). The first class will focus on creating your Tuffet Cover, using the fabric of your choice. Choose fabrics to coordinate with your home décor or your favorite quilt or fabric you just love! You will lay out your fabrics in a pleasing array, and learn tips and tricks to make a perfect fitting cover. In the second session you will turn your cover into an upholstered footstool. All the tools required to assemble the Tuffet will be provided at the class. You will leave with a beautiful, personalized piece of quilted furniture. Some experience with foundation piecing or paper piecing is helpful, but not necessary. Due to the high quality of the kit The Quilted Crow is offering, we will not accept other kits for this class. The cost of this class is FREE, the $177.99 covers our KIT & PATTERN. Please bring your lunch. Drinks and dessert will be provided. A complete supply list will be provided at time of sign up. Traditional Rug Hooking for Beginners Class - Sunday, September 17, 10am-5pm with Diane Daniels

Sku #: c-148900
Click here to see a class member completed rugs!!
An 1860's Civil War era craft...the popularity of Traditional Rug Hooking is seeing the largest resurgence since the 1940's and is growing nationwide. Using strips of pre-cut wool fabric, a cotton monks cloth foundation and a hook that looks much like a crochet hook with a wooden handle, Diane will teach the basic hooking methods. She will teach students to learn the "rhythm" of rug hooking while learning "loop to loop" and "row to row" hooking, diagonal hooking, turning a squared corner, and hooking points. You will also be given basic instructional handouts in a nifty binder.

The kit chosen for our beginners is called: Star "Hit or Miss" Rug (16" x 21"). It may not be a design of your first choice; however...it is definitely one that will teach you all the basics that will allow you to tackle most any pattern after that! Each kit comes complete with the pre-drawn design on the monk's cloth, pre-cut strips of hand-dyed wool, your rug hook, finishing tape & photo. A 12" No slip Morgan hoop is suggested for this class. You will receive a 10% discount on the hoop and any extra supplies purchased for this class. Click HERE to go to the 12" Morgan No-slip hoop.
