Using batik fabrics, these clubs are a fun, creative way to try new skills and practice old ones. Clubs in this category use applique and/or piecing techniques.


Batik Butterflies Block of the Month Club
Beautiful appliqued butterflies will flutter across your quilt room as you construct this Block of the Month quilt designed by Roxy Burgard. Each butterfly is set on point and surrounded by four colorful batik fabrics. You'll find 12 different butterfly blocks, named after real butterflies, plus a finishing pattern that includes instructions for the border. Finished quilt is approximately 48" x 60". Each monthly kit includes full-size patterns, plus instructions for both traditional and fusible web methods of applique. "Well-Behaved Women Seldom Make History" is a block of the month club about women who changed the course of United States History. Each month, you will receive all the fabric you need to construct two 12" blocks--one pieced and one embroidered. You'll also study the lives of influential American Women who, although they may not have been seen as well behaved during their day, continue to influence the lives of women today. As Times Goes By Block of the Month Club
This 19th Century memoir of quilt blocks is beautifully redone in 21st Century Batik fabrics. Created by Nicole Chambers of Nicole's Art to Live With, these traditional block patterns have been adapted to be compatible with more modern rotary cutting methods. My Summer Vacation Block of the Month Club
Spend a day at the beach on the Oregon coast in the comfort of your sewing room. My Summer Vacation, designed by Judy Hillman, is easy to construct and fun to make! A center panel shows a seal basking on the rocks. Ten other blocks depict common summer beach themes. The quilt is constructed using primarily batik fabrics, fusible web and blanket stitch applique. Each month during this seven month club you will receive the patterns and fabric you need to make a portion of the quilt. We're going to Grandma's House! You know, "over the river and through the wood." To Grandma's House is organized around 12 classic children's stories that have been popular since the late 19th and early 20th century. Each month you receive the fabric you need to create a quilt block, plus a special magazine styled booklet named after a child who loved that particular story. You'll learn about the life of each child, the featured book, and the author who wrote it. In addition, recipes, tips and hints, and vintage advertisements are also included.
