Amy Butler
>>
Amy Butler has never given a second thought to being an artist, she comes by it quite naturally. Yes, she has been a contributing editor for Country Living magazine, but in 1992, she and her husband, David, moved to the farm country of Ohio (her home,) There they started a pattern company, called Art of the Midwest, with two cats and about $1,200. Rural living removed Amy from cultural influences. She’s inspired by her surroundings, friends, family, nature, and the rich textures of everyday life. Therefore, she designs from a very intimate point of view. She’s not much on following trends she’s just creates designs that we at Sew Bee It and the world over LOVE. Now printing unique and timeless fabric collections with the same group that prints Kaffe Fassett, Amy has awakened the fabric industry to a refreshing new dawn.
