Heirloom Treasures or Reminisce– Vintage Linen Crazy Quilt Workshop

Many have expressed interest in having a class so they too can make a quilt with the Heirloom Treasures they've inherited. Bring your drawer full of vintage linens, (Hankies, Embroidered and/or crocheted Pillow Cases, Dresser Scarves, and Doilies) and we will work together to showcase your vintage linens in a lovely quilt. Heirloom Treasures or Reminisce Pattern required.

Appliqué Society

The TAS Club meets monthly on the first Wednesday of each month.

If you love appliqué or are just interested in appliqué, please come join us. There is no fee, just fellowship as we stitch. If you are new to appliqué, this would be a wonderful opportunity to find a project and pick up some pointers and tips.

Bring your project and enjoy a pleasantly productive afternoon with like minded friends.

Stitch'n Sisters

Do you hand embroider? Do Twilling? or any other of the many other "Fancy work" techniques that are enjoying a revival?

Stitching is sew much more fun when doing it with friends. Bring your 'hand work' and join us on the first Thursday of each month. We will stitch, visit and share different techniques and styles.

Summer Stitching

This summer we will be decorating and quilting the panel, American Country by Lecien. Come join us as We spend one morning each month decorating the design and then doing utility style quilting during the "class". Bring a variety of threads for embellishment and other fun things such as buttons and beads. We are going to have our panels basted so that we can quilt as we go. If you would like your panel basted too, come pick up your panel in advance of the class and have it basted before the first session. There is no charge for Summer stitching club. The price of the panel is $12.00.

Hand Embroidery, Beyond the Basics

If you have mastered the stem stitch, French knot and lazy daisy stitch and ready to add additional stitches to your embroidery work, this class will cover the following stitches:

• Fly stitch
• Long and short stitch
• Chain stitch
• Buttonhole wheel
• Cast-on stitch
• Bullion stitch

This is a two part class, the first class on Wednesday, February 28 and the final class on Wednesday, April 25.

Beginning Hand Quilting

This is a beginning class teaching the fundamentals of Hand quilting. We will cover the techniques of how to start and stop, marking the quilt top, and batting choices. We will review the different types of thimbles and the pros and cons of each type. We will also cover the different sizes of quilting needles and you will be able to play with them to see which one fits your style the best. Then, we will practice making nice, even, consistent stitches.

We will also cover big stitch quilting, using a heaver showy thread and longer, visible stitches.

If you have a favorite thimble or quilting hoop, please bring it along with a pair of small scissors for snipping threads. We will provide a "fabric sandwich" kit so you will not need to bring anything else.

Twilling

Twilling is an old-fashioned stitch that adds a lot of elegance to any project. It is very easy to do and also very addictive. Once you learn the technique the possibilities for embellishing quilts are endless. We are offering this one hour class on different days to accommodate any and all schedules!

Quilt Camp

Three full days of sewing – just think how much you can accomplish in that time! Each day begins at 9:30, on Thursday we will sew until 7:00 pm. Friday we will stop at midnight (unless you decide to fold earlier) and finish up by 4:00 pm on Saturday. Bring snacks to share and your sewing projects. In order to keep it as economical as possible, we will ONLY provide the Friday evening meal. Feel free to bring a sack lunch or there are a number of restaurants nearby that you can go to, or order a take out meal to bring back

Beginning Quilting- Spinning Pinwheels

This is a great quilt for a beginning quilter. The block is easy to make and features learning how to precisely make half square triangles. This class will cover cutting your fabric, sewing an accurate 1/4" seam, making the different components of the block and then the block assembly. The pattern is included in the class fee.

Sew Day

It's a "Work" party! We are holding Sew Day on the third Wednesday of each month. Bring your machine and current project to work on. A day spent with quilting friends will improve your outlook on life! Be sure to sign up as although our classroom is large, we won't overfill it.

Whatnots Club

Kim Diehl designs beautiful fabrics for Henry Glass Fabrics and likes small projects. We have kits cut from her collection of fabric called Helping Hands. Kim has designed 8 new small projects that can be made from this line of fabric. Most of the projects are table topper size with the largest one being 35" x 35". By joining the club, you will get first access to these projects along with time each month to come and sit and sew and socialize. We usually meet the 3rd Thursday of each month from 2:00 to ? (we lock the doors at 8:00 pm), however, you may come and go anywhere between two o'clock and 8 o'clock. There is a $40.00 fee for this 8 month program. The projects are individually priced and you are not required to purchase all of them, however, after you see them, you will want to collect them all.

Vintage Machine Club

This Club is for those of you who have those cute vintage machines and LIKE TO USE them! Come spend a day stitching with Jennifer. Bring your own project or Jeni will tempt you with a new one.

Is there an old machine back in the closet you have entertained the idea of actually USING someday? This will give you the opportunity to use your machine while sewing with friends who also love and appreciate the great stitching these vintage machines produce.

This is a monthly club that meets on either the 4th or 5th Friday of every month.

Hand Piecing

Hand Piecing is a great way to piece small blocks, tricky curves, or just because you want a portable project. We have a number of different patterns that we use this method of hand piecing rather than using paper pieces and find it much gentler on your hands. Our Star a Day Challenge, the Lucy Boston Quilt, Hexagons and more -- did you know they can be done easily WITHOUT paper piecing or a machine? We will learn several tricks to make hand piecing accurate and the proper way to start and finish seams.

Sew Day with Jeni

This began as an extra sewing day for those working on the Farm Girl Vintage Block of the month, but now that the Farm Girl quilt is finished, the Sew Day was just too much fun to give up. If you want to spend a day sewing with a great bunch of ladies, come join the fun, Jeni always has a bright new kit or project to share.

Shooting Star

This class features Laundry Basket's Shooting Star pattern. The blocks are not difficult to make, but they take a little time. Come work on the block with others as we share tips and techniques to make it easier.
