Easy Drunkard’s Path
Easy Drunkard's Path
Level: Beginner - Advanced
Licensed Sulky Class: Yes
Some say that sewing on a curve is difficult. I'm going to show you two simple ways to create a drunkard's path quilt block. And, I'm giving you permission to do it the creative machine arts way. The only hard part to creating this cute table topper is deciding which layout to use. Do you remember playing with a kaleidoscope? Well, the drunkard's path quilt block is very similar to a kaleidoscope. Just a quarter turn of the blocks can give your table topper a totally different look. I was even amazed at how fun and simple this table topper comes together. I've added another way to create the drunkard's path quilt block to make it extremely simple, even for a beginner quilter. Here, you can learn the basics first and then challenge your skills when you are ready. Speaking of challenges, so many quilters piece complex quilt blocks yet they are fearful of actually quilting their prized work. They rather send it off to someone else to do the quilting. If they enter their quilt in a show, they have to give credit to someone else for finishing their work. I'm going to show you two extremely easy techniques to do your own free motion quilting, and you can take all the credit for making your quilting projects all the way from from piecing to quilting to binding. Talk about binding. I put a little creative flair on the fool-proof faux binding technique that adds a special finishing touch to the binding. The completed project measures approximately 22” x 22” and can be used as a table topper or wallhanging.
