Treasures of the Deep

Treasures of the Deep is an advanced level, 15” cloth doll mounted on a 2 ½” base. As well as being a decorative item, this siren of the sea can be used to store and display your treasured jewelry. The full wire armature of the doll allows her to be used to drape lightweight jewelry from her arms and fingers, while heavier items of jewelry can be gathered on the base at her feet.
Some interesting techniques were used in the making of Treasures of the Deep including wefting hair, fulling a jumper to create your own felt for the base, dying cheesecloth and beading the sequin bodice.
