FANCIFUL FAIRY WINGS WITH JUDY SKEEL
Do you love fantasy characters? Do you love playing with assorted
fibers and art supplies? This class may be just what you are looking for! Join
Doll Artist Judy Skeel and learn several methods for making a variety of wings
for your fantasy characters.
This workshop demonstrates a collection of wings created using
Organdy fabric, Tyvek, Angelina Fibers and Angelina Film, 3D Crystal Lacquer and
Apoxie Sculpt as well as Liquid Polymer Clay, and is a plethora of ideas and
information on wing techniques and construction. Students are encouraged to
create as many wings as they choose but are not expected to purchase every
supply listed and demonstrated in this workshop. With so many variations offered
students will learn to adapt techniques and mix and match supplies for endless
combinations and one of a kind wing creations.
Nearly 50 wing patterns are included in various shapes, sizes and
colors for adaptation and creating pleasure. Techniques include melting,
burning and baking, adding textures and embellishing and wiring to attach to
fantasy characters. Also included are steps to pose wings, add color and veining
to improve "common" wings, distressing and aging wings and finally how to
embellish wings for that final pizzazz!
